Baptist Identity Resources Now Available in Spanish

ATLANTA, GA — The Baptist History & Heritage Society (BHHS) is excited to announce that its popular Baptist Identity Resources series is now available in Spanish, expanding access to this valuable collection for Spanish-speaking Baptists and congregations.

The Baptist Identity Resources series offers a rich collection of resources on topics related to Baptist identity, crafted for individuals, small groups, and congregations to explore and discuss. These resources from respected Baptist historians spotlight core Baptist principles and beliefs. Topics include:

  • Priesthood of All Believers (Dr. Carolyn Blevins)
  • Believer’s Baptism (Dr. William Brackney)
  • Liberty of Conscience (Dr. Charles Deweese)
  • Voluntarism (Dr. Glenn Hinson)
  • Congregationalism (Dr. Carol Crawford Holcomb)
  • A Passion for the Gospel (Dr. Bill Leonard)
  • The Bible (Dr. Claude Howe)
  • Turning Points in Baptist History (Dr. Walter Shurden)

This translation work was made possible in partnership with Rev. Ruben Ortiz, Latino Field Ministries Coordinator of the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship.

“Nothing is more urgent at this moment than to revisit our rich tradition and embrace our Baptist identity,” said Ortiz. “I suspect that the answers to many of our heated discussions today are found in this collection. A collection of articles that is liberating rather than prescriptive.”

BHHS Executive Director Aaron Weaver shared his thanks for the partnership with Ortiz and expressed his excitement for the Spanish-language series.

“We are thrilled that this series is now available in Spanish,” Weaver said. “Making these resources accessible to more Baptists reflects our mission of helping Baptists discover, conserve, assess, and share their history. Accessibility matters, and we hope these resources will spark deeper conversations about the Baptist story and identity.”
