Executive Director
Dr. Aaron Douglas Weaver began serving in 2024 as part-time Executive Director of the Baptist History & Heritage Society, the leading scholarly organization for Baptist historians in America. A Baptist communications leader and historian, Weaver has served since 2013 as Communications Director for the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, where he helps lead communications, marketing and resource development efforts and serves as editor of fellowship! magazine. He is also an adjunct professor of Baptist history at Emory University’s Candler School of Theology.
Weaver is the author or editor of numerous articles and five books on Baptist history, identity, religious liberty and public life. A graduate of Baylor University, the University of Georgia and a former BHHS Board Member, Weaver lives in Tucker, Ga., with his wife, Alexis, and their three children.
